My skin has been just plain awful lately. Symptoms - you name it! Blemishes of every sort, dryness (like, superdryness), redness, itching...not cool. I usually don´t wanna complain ´cause there´s more to life than your glowy face, but EVERYBODY knows how bad it can make you feel. Bad skin makes you look unhealthy and that´s what the problem is. I´ve been somewhat unhealthy lately. All thanks to cortisol :) But that´s ok. No permanent state here.
As my skin was getting worse and worse and no potion or lotion whatsoever was helping, I intuitively tried an approach NEVER EVER recommended by any dermatologist. I stopped using lotion on my face. First, after my night cleanse, my skin felt really dry and itchy but I wanted to trust my body´s own healing mechanisms instead of clogging my pores with oils and creams and serums and stuff that obviously wasn´t working for me. Next morning I woke up to slightly less bumpy skin. Ok, I´m doing something right here. I did not wear any make-up for two days even though I felt icky without it. And it got better and better. Yes, it felt extremely dry, but I wanted to be patient.
This morning it felt dry but at the same time my face looked more glowy than in months. I went to the pharmacy and bought myself a couple of buddies. Although I kinda wanna prefer natural cosmetics, I went for a safer option this time. Highly moisturizing, light lotion from ACO (a Swedish brand I think) for moments when I just have to wear lotion and pretty expensive but both nourishing and blemish/redness covering CC-cream from La Roche-Posay. But for now on, I want my skin to breathe as much as possible and let it heal by itself.
